As a motivated father of three, he realized he didn’t want his children growing up in a toxic home so he decided to start a company that speaks strongly to being a steward of our planet. Green Planet Building creates Families
Child abuse affects more than one million children every year. Green Planet Building participates in the annual Manhattan Beach pier to pier walk with Richstone Family Center, which helps not only children, but parents and teenagers living in abusive households. Richstone programs include transitional living programs for young women leaving foster care, a family support program, and after school program to help foster a nurturing learning environment for children in first through eighth grade.
Lauri Burns Teen Project has been nationally recognized by Oprah Winfrey as an Ambassador of Hope for her efforts to provide teens aging out of the foster care system with all of the resources and support of an intact family. This program offers free room & board and college support for teens while they transition into adulthood. Recent studies have shown that the average young person does not become self-sufficient until age 26. The foster system cuts teens off from their sole support system at age 18. Green Planet Building donated construction efforts and building material to help build a Venice Beach drop in center for The Teen Project.
Green Planet Building embraces Diversity
We have partnered with the Point Foundation to provide financial support, mentoring, leadership training, and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We support the Point foundation and their efforts to create awareness for young individuals striving to find their place in this world. We believe that each person has the right to be accepted for who they are.
